Greg goes over how to remove the breasts and thighs from a turkey. Quick tips: The less you can use your knife when skinning the fewer feathers you'll have on your meat. Use the breast bone and rib cage as a guide for making your cuts. Dislocate the hip socket before removing the legs. 3 Things New Bowhunters Should Do When They Buy a Treestand
Best explanation I’ve seen so far👍🏻
Thank you
One shot placement you didn’t discuss was the strutting broadside pose. When they are in the strutting pose they are a lot more relaxed and calmer. Using the waddles, draw a horizontal line back, and a vertical line straight up from the legs. At those intersecting lines is where you aim. I strictly bow hunt turkeys and have never lost one or it make it out and across the field I’m hunting. This shot drops them right there. Understanding shot placement is key. 👍
Better than average turkey call guide.
7:15 Dude watched Predator and decide that is how he wants to hunt deer…..
Let's not forget about our blood Tracker dogs as well, if there's no blood or just a bad shot, make that call, P.S. get number before you actually need it!
Great video. Thank you!
Great information! God Bless y’all!!!
Depends where the source of meat comes from! Venison is better than grocery store meat for sure!
It's crazy that the cover of the book really decides your fate. But it's true. People defintly do judge. If you're an ugly fella with scraggly hair and missing teeth. You're chances are slim. You defintly have to know how to talk to people. It's crazy how times have changed. I grew up in the late 80's early 90's and you could walk up to a home with your camo on and blood on your hands and most folks would say sure no problem. Now days you have to be politicly correct. Hunting has defintly changed. For the worse i Beleive. I remember when hunting was hunting. Now days it's about bragging rights and showing off fancy gear and food plots and last but not least. The almighty dollar. And i Beleive that's why it's so hard to hunt these days.
I'm sure bow shops love new bow hunters. They can easily convince them that the most expensive components are what's best for their setup and the new guy buys it thinking he or she has the best chance now..I've personally seen it happen while in a bow shop is why I say this.. It's a win win for the shop. 🎉
The bow stand is a great tip
Are you trying to convince people that they must have electricity to survive?
Do you guys ever hunt in Welch Oklahoma
Thank you Scott
i havent hunted out of a tree over 40 years and i all ways feel all of my tags
Perfect video exactly what I needed to see.
Good job! I'm a good bit older and I suggest the following. I carry surveyors tape and use a 3 inch piece along the blood trail as I find it. Tracker dogs don't follow blood, at least the good ones, they follow an inter digital scent that a mortally wounded deer leaves as they move. Hogs do the same. It is waxy and can withstand some rain and even a 24 hour time period. They can follow this scent even if the deer is bleeding internally. If the dog gives up , usually means it's not a mortal hit. Good, i mean bright, flash light is a must for night. Get down on all fours and line up the trail to get a probability of the path the deer might be moving. Seems that as they loose blood they will break off in a right or left angle so if you can't find the next drops in a line, look to either side of the last drops.
Where you get your camouflage jumpsuit from bro? I need that lol
you dont need that plastic foil or whatever that is you just need a plastic glove and some pvc and thats it
Thermals drop scent drops. Thermals rise scent rises.
How about Small game hunting.
Ya we know this... Talk about getting ready , setting up...I've got my gear...talk about in the invent... How about you may need a couple of cords of line to get up in the stand with you ?
What sight is that mate?
What is the center ring of the 3 inside the 10 ring?
You're exactly wrong. If your broadhead is hitting left of your field point, you need to move your rest to the left, not the right. The reason the broadhead is hitting left of the field point is because the rear of the arrow is kicking right and the broadhead is plaining to the left. The way to correct this is to move the rest to the left.
Yes, make sure you pay Uncle Sam to hunt his wildlife, to feed your family. Even though he already forcefully takes taxes out of your paycheck before you get it… you still need to pay for everything you buy or do. If you don’t, he will send his thugs to put you in jail.
Move, lol.
what kind of bow do you have ??
Venison ❤❤❤ Beefy red meat 👎👎👎
I agree, keep up the vids guys 🤙
Man im in Australia where it is so green. There is deer everywhere but getting permission is almost impossible as owners love the deer or they hunt themselves. Its the hardest part of bowhunting for sure. Great tips though I do follow then and had a yes once or twice
Can I use a target bow like PSE Citation or Hoyt invicta for hunting? can they be tailored for hunting?
Thank you!! Great information for a new turkey hunter like me.
Awesome video
Thank you
That helped me a lot
Is there an online map somewhere for whatever area you're in that shows where other people are planning on hunting and you just have to avoid that area.
You forget to include the protein for each. Venison is richer in protein than other red meats.
Red meat beef takes to long to digest in the colon and it is full of hormones and steroids 👎👎👎
I like the height of the stool.
That shit looks raw
You want the fat though

So to be sure down wind is away from where the wind is coming from right?
Thank you! Doing my first turkey hunt this April. Have no clue what I'm doing but trying to find out as much as I can before April.
Good luck. Just want to give you some encouragement. Don't get too discouraged if you have no success and don't understand why. I was out for my first time last year and felt so disheartened because I had zero success even locating anything. Having had a year to process the experience I believe that it is important to not get too down as I learn. It takes years to really learn the kills needed. So good luck and keep your chin up if you fail. I'm hoping for more success this year!
@@Blewittdot3 , thank you very much! Yeah, I'm trying to be realistic. The place I'm leasing hasn't had a lot of turkey action until the last 2 years the owner said, so hopefully that will continue this Spring. Thank you!
I'm super late getting everything ready, really have no idea what I'm doing but I'm gonna go mid season now I'm watching tons of video and tips, late but might just go for the heck of it
I use a cigarette to check wind directions.
Can you shoot year round on public hunting lands?

Don't take this the wrong way but you look like the giga chad style on gumball. Good video
I actually learned a lot from the video. You explained it informative but not arrogant
Not a fan of tree stands. I like the freedom. Thank for this. Landscape is a lot different from where I live but principles still apply
